Our customer at a health centre in North Devon was made aware of the Openreach copper phase out. They rely on the lifts autodialler to ensure passengers can seek help in line with BS EN81-80 requirements.
The Challenge:
The normal solution is to fit a GSM unit complete with our managed non-steered roaming SIM cards which operate on 2G, 3G and 4G networks from all four providers (EE, 02, Three, Vodafone) along with an internal antenna.
However, we surveyed and realised that even with a hi-gain internal antenna the signal strength wouldn’t be good enough to maintain a suitable connection to a GSM device fitted to the autodialler in this area.
The Solution:
We fitted a weatherproof hi-gain antenna to the outside of the building and ran cabling to the lift equipment to maintain a stable connection to all four UK mobile networks from the new GSM unit we fitted.
